Individualism has become a large problem in society. Unfortunately, it is very easy to come caught up in it. I myself have been caught in it before. As I am currently studying this issue, though, it has become a major problem, especially in the American society. What is individualism? It is the belief that each person must take responsibility for his or her own life, and when others fail to do so, we shouldn't be expected to help them. However, the teachings of Christ preach contrary to this. We are expected to help them. We are told in the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy to help those in need, both spiritually and physically.
So, in this culture of individualism, let us always remember Christ's message.
